Seminode provides two MCP servers that work with AI assistants like Claude and OpenAI. One answers questions; the other takes action.
The Docs MCP server at docs.seminode.com/mcp gives your assistant read-only access to Seminode's full documentation and API reference — no authentication required. Point your AI at the endpoint and ask how to create a node, what an API endpoint expects, or how a workflow is supposed to run.
The Seminode Platform MCP server at tools.seminode.com/mcp connects to your Seminode account, enabling AI assistants to perform actions on your behalf. It's authenticated — your assistant works against your own Seminode account.
Through the Platform MCP server, your AI can search parts and materials listings across your network, find companies within your connections, and view all quotes in your inbox. It can send counter offers and accept or reject incoming quotes. It can create and list partners, grant node access permissions, create nodes for organizing data, and manage posting and query connections. "Show me all pending quotes in my inbox" or "create a new partner for ABC Manufacturing" become one-line requests instead of multi-step tasks.
You don't need to bring your own assistant to get started. The in-app AI Playground offers natural-language access to your Seminode data, the documentation, and AI-powered web search for part information like datasheets, market pricing, and distributor stock levels. An AI Sidebar in the Inbox provides contextual help on the quote thread you're viewing, and a Dashboard Summary highlights open quotes and pending approvals that need attention.
A buyer working through a shortage asks their assistant to search listings across their network for a part, with results grounded in live data rather than pasted fragments. For alternatives, market pricing, and distributor stock levels, the in-app AI Playground adds AI-powered web search alongside your network data.
A sales rep starts the morning by asking for pending quotes, reviews the details, and tells the assistant to counter one and accept another. The actions happen in Seminode, against the real quote records — not in a disconnected chat that someone has to transcribe later.
Onboarding a new supplier means creating a partner, granting node permissions, and wiring up posting or query connections. With the Platform MCP server, that's a short exchange with your assistant instead of a sequence of forms.
